Welcome to Profit & Pressure (“Profit & Pressure,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). Profit & Pressure is a California-based youth-led nonprofit arts and media organization operated in care of Peyton White.
By accessing our website, submitting content, participating in our programs, volunteering, donating, or interacting with our services, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use our services or submit content.
If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate.
2. Our Services
Profit & Pressure provides a platform for youth and emerging creators to share artistic and written works related to themes including business, finance, money, hustle culture, pressure, identity, and personal experiences.
Our services may include:
- Digital galleries
- Online publications
- Creative magazines
- Printed books
- Exhibitions
- Contests and awards
- Volunteer opportunities
- Educational and community programming
- Social media features and promotions
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time without notice.
3. User Submissions
Users may submit:
- Poetry
- Essays
- Journalism
- Photography
- Digital art
- Mixed media
- Short-form creative content
- Digitized drawings
- Other approved creative works
By submitting content, you confirm that:
- You created the work or have permission to submit it
- Your submission does not infringe on another person’s rights
- Your work does not contain unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or plagiarized material
We reserve the right to reject, remove, edit formatting, or decline to publish any submission for any reason.
4. Content Ownership & License
Creators retain ownership of their original work.
However, by submitting content to Profit & Pressure, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:
- Display your work on our website and social media
- Include your work in digital or printed publications
- Feature your work in exhibitions, galleries, promotions, marketing materials, and fundraising campaigns
- Archive your work as part of organizational records and publications
This license remains active unless you request removal of your work in writing.
Removal requests may not apply retroactively to already printed publications, previously distributed materials, or completed promotional campaigns.

5. Volunteer Hours
Profit & Pressure may award volunteer hours for eligible contributions and participation.
Current volunteer guidelines may include:
- 2 volunteer hours per approved submission or contribution
Volunteer hours are awarded solely at the discretion of Profit & Pressure. We reserve the right to deny, adjust, revoke, or limit volunteer credit where appropriate, including in cases involving rule violations, spam submissions, plagiarism, inactivity, or abuse of the system.
Volunteer hours are not guaranteed.
6. Donations, Purchases & Financial Support
We may accept:
- Donations
- Membership contributions
- Merchandise purchases
- Magazine or publication sales
- Event payments
Payments may be processed through third-party providers including PayPal.
We are not responsible for errors, outages, or security incidents caused by third-party payment processors.
Unless otherwise stated, donations are non-refundable.
7. Contests, Awards & Opportunities
Profit & Pressure may offer:
- Contests
- Features
- Awards
- Scholarships
- Exhibitions
- Publication opportunities
- Monetary prizes
All opportunities are subject to change, availability, eligibility requirements, and funding.
Prizes, publication placements, features, or opportunities are never guaranteed.
Additional rules may apply to specific contests or events.
8. Community Standards
Users may not:
- Submit plagiarized content
- Post hateful or discriminatory material
- Harass, threaten, or bully others
- Submit sexually explicit or NSFW material
- Impersonate another person or organization
- Attempt to disrupt or damage the platform
- Use our services for unlawful purposes
We reserve the right to remove content, revoke participation, ban users, or report unlawful behavior when necessary.
9. Copyright & DMCA Policy
Profit & Pressure respects intellectual property rights.
If you believe material on our platform infringes your copyright, please send a notice including:
- Your name and contact information
- A description of the copyrighted work
- The location of the allegedly infringing material
- A statement that you believe the use is unauthorized

We may remove allegedly infringing content while reviewing claims.

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Profit & Pressure and its affiliates, volunteers, leadership, and representatives shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of our services.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Profit & Pressure from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses resulting from:
- Your submissions
- Your misuse of the services
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your infringement of another person’s rights

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
